Networks

A network describes a way in which the project's nodes are inter-connected.  By defining new networks, you are able to investigate various network topologies and select the most appropriate configuration.

Networks form the basis of the analyses which Westplan performs.  At the heart of Westplan is the capability to compare different ways of connecting the same nodes within a project.  For example, a project could consist of 4 locations.  Two networks could be created within that project.  In the first network, a fully meshed topology could be entered in which every node is connected to every other node  In the second network, which would show the same nodes at the same positions as the first network, a star topology could be defined.  Westplan could then analyse both networks to work out which network layout is the most appropriate.
